Repetition Is a Taboo

One October day in 2020, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un visited the reconstruction site in Kimhwa County, which had been afflicted severely by flooding.
While looking round the site, he paid close attention to the structural form of houses.
Seeing the houses at the seat of Choso-ri, he expressed satisfaction over the fact that they were completely different from those at the county town. But after finding out that they were exactly the same form as those built at the seat of Kangbuk-ri in Kumchon County, North Hwanghae Province, he felt regretful about it.
An architectural structure should be designed to suit its purpose and to have its peculiarity. As architecture is a comprehensive art in particular, similarity and repetition are a taboo.
After a while, Kim Jong Un said to the officials that the country’s construction should be developed steadily, stressing that architectural structures should be built in a non-repetitive way.
The officials realized once again that architectural structures could become wonderful enough to be desired by the Party only when they overcome stereotype and imitation in construction and explore the new while sustaining the characters and features of the relevant architectural structures.
